As a service to you, we’ve touched on some of the highlights of Montgomery County:
We were at one time part of The Big Thicket, a nickname making reference to the blanket of trees that covered the territory. Legend has it, the sun didn’t shine until noon because of the canopy of branches and leaves.
The Woodlands is a master-planned community, now incorporated, of over 100,000 residents, with a history that spans back several decades. The brainchild of an oil baron in 1974, The Woodlands is now home to multinational corporations, cultural and entertainment venues, and a thriving residential and commercial real estate market.
The Lone Star Convention and Expo Center is down the street from our Conroe-North Houston regional airport. On any given day you can visit the expo center to sample BBQ, admire blue ribbon-worthy livestock or horses, buy or sell treasure at a swap meet, or enjoy a festival.
Spring Creek Greenway and Nature Center along with Montgomery County Preserve, George Mitchell Nature Preserve, are all part of a plan, thanks to the Texas Forest Service, to join and protect 12,000 acres along the Spring Creek. Visitors enjoy hiking trails, educational services, and trips along the creek because of these efforts.
